[Waking after a departure is never easy. He knows upon waking that what happened the day before was real. He dresses fast and goes to look for his sister. Everything else can wait. There's only his sister and the grief they both feel.
When he finds her, he walks up to stand beside her. If she isn't using her hands he reaches for one to hold in his. As if they were kids again.] ...Sister, do not go far from me today. Please.
[Watching the dragon that she and Vax cared for from the second they arrived in Somnius was so difficult. A part of her had latched onto Goldie to fill the void that Trinket and Percy usually inhabited for her, and she's pretty sure the same could be said for Vax with regards to Keyleth. Certainly, the arrival of those three and the others was good, but...
Loss isn't easy for Vex. Nor is it easy for Vax either.
To be honest, she hasn't really slept. She's stayed outside of the castle, looking out into the trees and the sky, letting the feeling of nature (such as it is here) roll over her and help her to not think about the dragon-shaped hole in her heart. When Vax approaches, she sighs and grabs for his hand at the same time he reaches for her. It's been a while since she's wanted to break down in tears while holding his hand, but she's not quite ready for that yet.]
And where would I go? I.... I don't want to see anyone else right now. Not even Percy.
[Loss always feels like a shift in the world. Nothing changes for the rest of the world. But for him it will never be the same again.
He squeezes her hand and stays hand in hand with her as he looks out at the nature around them. Goldie had filled the void left in him from the lack of Keyleth, that is true. But also filled the void where the Matron usually is.
It helped him be connected to being a dragon himself. Made him wonder what it would be like if he lived long enough for children with his dark hair and Keyleth’s bright eyes to be a memory instead of a dream. He takes a breath and wraps a wing around his sister.]
…Then here we’ll stay. As long as we feel like staying right here.
